Horizon Published Applications feature supports remote-experience features. These include everything from HTML Access to client-drive redirection, access to locally connected USB devices, Windows media redirection, content redirection, printer redirection, location-based printing, 3D rendering, smart card authentication, and more.
Horizon Published Applications can leverage the PCoIP and Blast Extreme display protocols from VMware, providing a rich user experience using zero, thin, laptop, PC, or mobile clients over LAN, WAN, or bandwidth-limited connections.
Some of the use cases where you need to publish applications from Horizon RDSH, there is requirements for Share folders or home drives. You can publish using internet explorer.
Add application pool manually with below options
ID : Application Name Display Name: Shared Drive Version: 1.0 Publisger: Your Company Path: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe Start Folder: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer Parameters: Z:\
It will publish as IE icon,
You can change ICON by publishing bat file to invoke above drive with calling IE with parameter and change ICON of file. Place that file in any folder on Session host server and call as application pool manually.
